Today is brought to you by the letter "C" for carve-able and the number 1 and by Dermatone SPF 25. Michael doesn't like any SPF above 15, too greasy, so I told him it was 8, and he put it on.
Beautiful surface from the beginning of the day until the end. The Massachusetts crowds have returned to work (Barbara & Pete included). Michael, Steve, and I raced around the mountain with no one in our way. We spent a good deal of the morning in the Needle's Eye area, even though the quad was not running. We picked up Annie over there.
Michael was determined to have a no repeat day (hence the number 1) which is something, "we used to do back in the day." That Michael is so mired in the past. He missed doing Old Superstar again, which was better in the morning, anyway.
Interesting tidbit: Killington made perfect training bumps on the Training Trail which I haven't seen in 12 years, and they did it on Mouse Trap. The third time Steve, Annie, and I took the Training Trail, we all agreed we were Olympic. Steve tells Annie, "Yeah, you were great. You took the bronze." What an ass!
We learned that Annie hates the gondola. Why? "Because you have to take your skis off and it's too much work." And we learned she hates Cascade. When asked why she just made a noise. So we took Cascade.
Tough to say what the run of the day was. Michael picked Needle's Eye because of the great snow and no one there. Steve says first run on Old Superstar. I concur. Skylark was fabulous and Low Road was epic even with the lunch bag slung low.
Steve & I had a beer on the deck as Annie & Michael hit the road. It was a true Colorado day.
Now I need to rest because the forecast is calling for 3-feet of fresh pow between now and Saturday. Will the Tim & Dee Show appear for this event? Will Michael & Annie shack up at the Ottoquechee Love Shack? Will Byron howl? Stay tuned.
