Hiking Pico

Hiked Pico today. The trail is called the Sherburne Pass Trail and is 2.9 miles to the summit. At 2.5, you can hook up with a trail that will take you to Killington. At this same spot is a cabin that sleeps 12--tight quarters, though. And smelly!!!! It's clean, but definately has a body odor aroma. It's pretty moderate hiking. The last 0.4 is steep. You cross ski trails twice. We summited in about 90 minutes.

We met a bunch of CVPS employees and interns up there. They like to have their lunch on the ski patrol shack, too. Later on another hiker arrived, but there was no room for her to sit. She said she wanted to sit in the shade and did so by the top of the ski lift. As she took her pack off, I noticed little dangling legs. She had a baby in there! None of us had noticed the quiet little guy.

After chatting about new Pico snow making and whatnot, we made our way down. At McGrath's Pub, we talked to the proprietor about Powdr Corp. replacing the Snowdon Quad with a used high speed from an Ascutney fire sale and keeping the Snowdon Cripple. We also talked to a Canadian from the Toronto area. He was a bright and interesting fellow. He said Obama enjoys an 85% approval rating from his country. WWBS...what would Byron say?
